Jo-Ann is currently a Teacher on Special Assignment at Quantum Academy at the Nicolaysen Center, a grades 4-8 STEAM school she helped design. In her career has taught kinder-4th grade and currently is enjoying working with middle school students. She works in a 1:1 iPad school (Apple Distinguished School) and blogs about the innovative use of iOS apps in the classroom and promotes the use of the 4 Cs to guide students to create, collaborate, communicate, and to think critically. Jo-Ann is a Google Certified Innovator, an Apple Teacher, and was named a semi-finalist for the 2012 California Teacher of the Year. She is a co-founder and moderator of #caedchat, a weekly Twitter chat designed for California educators. Her current professional interests and research are around STEAM learning, maker spaces, project based learning, and innovating with technology in the classroom.
